# monit -t
monit: Cannot find the control file at ~/.monitrc, /etc/monitrc, /usr/local/etc/monitrc, /usr/local/etc/monitrc or at ./monitrc

FIXED BY :
# ln -s /etc/monit/monitrc /etc/monitrc

simple, but exactly what I was looking for to hook into some bash scripts! Thanks also to the user who showed how to use su to run the command as a normal user

Thanks Paul,
I’ve installed rpmforge monit-5.2.4 and had same problem on CentOS 5.5
For me this:
#mkdir /var/monit
solve the problem

Oh My gosh! Such a great novelist!
Compère Gènèral Soleil is a priceless gem as I described it on my earlier status update of Facebook. As the elections of Sunday are fatly approaching, I couldn’t help but to ponder upon the continuous corrupted ètat of “AYITI” and the book came to mind. Sadly enough, the state of our beloved has detoriated for the worst since the publication of this gem!
