Why dambalah?
Dambalah is the Voodoo ‘loa’ (spirit) of water and fire: thus of knowledge.
There are a few reasons why I liked that name and decided to use it:
1) This blog is all about knowledge. I share mine with you by making blog posts and you share yours with me by leaving comments. Thus, I felt like the ‘loa’ of knowledge would be a good name for the blog.
2) I like the way it soundz: dumb - ha - la
3) I wanted to pick a name that represents where I’m from and Haiti is well known for its Voodoo. Though I do not practive Voodoo, I have always found it very interesting and entertaining.
That being said, I know religion can be a very delicate topic and I hope that I do not offend anyone by choosing this name. I am a fiend for knowledge. I like to receive it, give it, stay close to it… I wanted a name that symbolized my passion/curiosity for knowledge and I feel dambalah is perfect choice.
